You will assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications, including USP 797 & USP 800 compounded sterile products, and manage inventory while collaborating closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. Maintain organized inventory of compounding supplies, medications, and personal protective equipment.Accurately calculate and measure medications for prescription orders.Document compounding activities including product preparation, dispensing, and quality assurance.Ensure compliance with federal, state and institutional regulations including hazardous medications.Adhere to safety protocols including personal protective equipment use and handling hazardous medications.Perform all other duties of a pharmacy technician.Complete all assigned competencies including but not limited to required media fill and gloved fingertip sampling.Train pharmacy technicians and other pharmacy personnel in sterile compounding areas.May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSMust apply prior to hire for Pharmacy Technician licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy. Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within one (1) year as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSOne (1) year of college or one (1) year of experience. Experience with sterile compounding technology and automated compounding devices. Two (2) years of healthcare experience. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation.
