registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years RN experience
required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not
be considered. A registered nurse with experience in stepdown or
progressive care units is needed for a night shift assignment in a
neuroscience unit at a large teaching hospital and Level I trauma
center. This contract position offers the opportunity to support
complex patient care in a busy, Magnet-recognized facility known
for its commitment to nursing excellence. Location: Goose Creek,
SC, near a major metropolitan medical center with 820 staffed beds.
The hospital uses EPIC for charting and requires a parking permit
for garage use. The area combines suburban and urban amenities,
providing easy access to coastal attractions, parks, dining, and
cultural events in and around Charleston. Responsibilities: -
Provide high-quality nursing care to neuroscience patients in a
progressive care setting. - Manage a patient ratio of approximately
1:3-1:4 based on acuity. - Work a schedule of 3 consecutive 12-hour
night shifts (7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.) with 4-5 weekend shifts every
4 weeks as needed. - Float within nursing scope as required to meet
facility needs. - Adhere to hospital attendance policies, including
makeup shifts for weekend callouts. - Collaborate with
interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal
outcomes. Qualifications / Desired Experience: - Active South
Carolina or Multi-State Compact RN license. - Minimum 1 year of
experience in PCU/Stepdown or neuroscience nursing (first-time
stepdown nurses considered). - American Heart Association (AHA)
certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale. - Ability to
perform in a fast-paced, high acuity environment. - Willingness to
adhere to scheduling requirements and hospital policies. Additional
Details: - Night shift, 12-hour shifts, primarily covering 7 p.m.
to 7:30 a.m. - No on-call requirements. - Block scheduling requests
considered with management approval. - Participation in emergency
response teams may be required during hurricane season (June to
November). - Parking permit required for garage parking
