Job Description Summary The James B. Edwards College of Dental
Medicine, Medical University of South Carolina is seeking
applications for a full-time, tenured track faculty position in the
Department of Biomedical and Community Health Sciences, Division of
Emergency Services. Successful candidates will be expected to have
knowledge and clinical experience in all areas of operative and

Description The James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine,
Medical University of South Carolina is seeking applications for a
full-time, tenured track faculty position in the Department of
Biomedical and Community Health Sciences, Division of Emergency
Services. Successful candidates will be expected to have knowledge
and clinical experience in all areas of operative and fixed
prosthodontic restorative dentistry. The primary roles of this
faculty member will be to provide clinical teaching and clinical
services in the urgent care clinic. The provider will also support
a variety of clinics in the Department of Restorative and
Reconstructive Services. Example includes but is not limited to our
Advanced Education General Dentistry residency program and our
digital dentistry training programs in pre-doctoral education.
Examples of courses that this faculty member will be asked to
contribute to includes courses in treatment planning, emergency
care management, and various operative and similar coursework and
may also on occasion providing attending services at our offsite
practices such as West Ashley Medical Pavilion and Nexton Medical.
Qualified candidates must hold a DDS or DMD degree. Experience in
conducting educational presentations, utilizing digital dentistry
applications, use of technology in education and computer skills
are expected. Preference given to those with previous teaching or
comprehensive dentistry practice experience. Successful applicants
should have a South Carolina Dental License or qualify for a
teaching license. Salary and rank will be commensurate with
experience. Participation in the Dental Faculty Practice for
private patient care is anticipated. Additional Job Description

(Infrequent) Ability to lift objects, up to 15 lbs., from floor
level to height of 36 inches, unassisted. (Infrequent) Ability to
lower objects, up to 15 lbs., from height of 36 inches to floor
level, unassisted. (Infrequent) Ability to push/pull objects, up to
15 lbs., unassisted. (Infrequent) Ability to maintain 20/40 vision,
corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to
see and recognize objects close at hand. (Frequent) Ability to see
and recognize objects at a distance. (Frequent) Ability to
determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception.
(Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous)
Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous)
Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor
