Job Description:
Waste Management, Inc., a leader in comprehensive waste and
environmental services across North America, is seeking an
Experienced Environmental Technician to join our dedicated
Environmental Health & Safety team. This role focuses on supporting
our initiatives in environmental monitoring, compliance, and
protection strategies at various operational sites. The successful
candidate will be essential for ensuring Waste Management's
operations align with state and federal environmental regulations,
thereby sustaining our commitment to innovative waste management
and renewable energy solutions. Conduct environmental inspections
and audits, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal
regulations. Collect and analyze environmental samples, including
air, water, and soil. Prepare detailed reports on environmental
data and compliance activities. Implement and oversee waste
management and reduction programs. Assist in the development and
implementation of site-specific environmental policies and
procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address
environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies. Support
emergency response teams in handling hazardous material incidents.
Educate staff on environmental best practices and safety standards.
Proficiency in environmental sampling techniques and data analysis.
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance
standards. Ability to prepare comprehensive environmental reports.
Skilled in the use of environmental monitoring equipment. Excellent
communication and teamwork skills. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified
Environmental Technician (CET) preferred. OSHA Hazardous Waste
Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification.
