Job Description Job Description Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Provide essential support in the operating room by assisting registered nurses and collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. This role involves scrubbing in for surgical procedures, maintaining asepsis, managing surgical instruments and supplies, and supporting the surgical team throughout each procedure. Location This position is based in Charleston, SC, a vibrant coastal city known for its rich history, charming architecture, and beautiful waterfront. Responsibilities Assist registered nurses in planning and coordinating patient care during surgical procedures Maintain sterile technique and aseptic environment throughout surgeries Perform scrubbing duties and support the surgical team during operations (not as a surgical assistant) Communicate patient information accurately to appropriate personnel Account for all surgical equipment and supplies used during patient care Participate in performance improvement and quality assurance activities Maintain cleanliness and proper care of the unit and surgical equipment Serve as a clinical preceptor for new staff or orienting team members, collaborating with clinical educators Foster positive communication with patients, families, physicians, and staff while supporting teamwork and problem resolution Qualifications and Desired Experience Proven experience in nursing with a focus in operating room technology or related perioperative care Knowledge and practice of aseptic techniques and surgical environment protocols Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to function well within a multidisciplinary team and handle fast-paced environments Commitment to patient safety and quality care This contract opportunity provides a platform to refine your skills in a supportive, patient-focused environment.
